The Brief
NHS Primary Care Trusts across Britain are being re-branded as 'NHS Local' services. The re-naming of PCTs to NHS Local allows PCTs to position themselves as front-line commissioners of patient care and be identifiable to their local populations as such.
The Process
At Heywood, Middleton and Rochdale Primary Care Trust in Greater Manchester, the national re-branding initiative provided a timely opportunity to update a content managed Web site that had been maintained for a number of years. The design had started to date and HMR PCT were finding that the content management system no longer provided the flexibility and depth of functionality required.
The Results
The net result is a Web site we're all proud of. It has also helped NHS Heywood, Middleton and Rochdale (NHS HMR) win acclaim as the UK's 'outstanding team' at the annual National NHS Communications Awards, which identified the development of the new site and corporate branding, along with a series of podcasts, as high profile projects worthy of national recognition
